Two years ago I made this in a Chris Guarisco "Techniques Workshop" during "The Colony" at Metairie Park Country Day. It was a couple of weeks before Hurricane Katrina.

Raku

The Jefferson Parish Talented Visual Art Program organized a workshop with Pat Bodine on "Raku Firing." Here are some bowls I made and then fired during two different workshops.

Printmaking Book

This was a printmaking project organized by Janelle Trosclair. We first printed the pages individually. Then we stitched them together with cover pages in a book form. I simply rotated the direction of my printing block and varied color.

Whirlwind

After a presentation by Barth Brothers, the Mardi Gras float builders, a group of us art teachers set about constructing scupltures from brown paper with adhesive. Below is the one I built.

At a Gwen Impson "Monoprint Workshop" I printed these three pieces. This was a workshop sponsored by the Jefferson Parish Talented Visual Art Program.

African Violets

In this "Value Paintig Workshop" lead by Mae Niolet, we worked on building values in watercolor. She instructed us in detail each step of the way. The workshop was held by the Jefferson Parish Talented Visual Art Program.

Mask Decortating Workshop

Tonight I participated in a pastel workshop with members of ARTinA. Below is the painting I created. Pic journal has additional pictures from the workshop.

This is how my mask turned out. I used phosphorous acrylic paint, mica dust, small gold beads, sparkly stars and some unusual yarn.

Fern Glass Pan Bowl

For this painting, in the Nell Tilton "Abstract Painting Workshop," we were asked to abstract a still life. So here's the result of my effort.

Gold Rock

I also painted this mixed media painting during the Nell Tilton "Abstract Painitng Workshop" during "The Colony" at Metairie Park Country Day. We were shown how to use modeling paste first and then glaze on paint on top.
